Caleb Williams was outstanding in his preseason debut with a 6-for-10 performance for 107 yards and a touchdown. He led a 97-yard scoring drive and capped it off with a 36-yard strike for his first touchdown under first-year head coach Ben Johnson.

This is a standard four verticals concept out of a 3×1 alignment, with the trips side of the formation to Williams’ left. Buffalo clouds the picture presnap, showing a single-high look with man coverage indicators across the board: Cornerbacks are parallel to the line of scrimmage, with their eyes on the receivers across from them.

New coach Ben Johnson has brought more accountability and clearer feedback to Williams, and he seems receptive to using that as a tool to help him improve.
