The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested and charged a second man in connection with the fatal shooting in Americus. On Thursday afternoon, GBI agents arrested Ny’Tavion Smith, 20, on charges of aggravated assault and felony murder in connection to the death of 5-year-old Peyton Roberts.

Peyton Brielle Roberts was killed when gunfire erupted in the 600 block of Eastview Circle in Americus. Now, a 19-year-old was arrested in the shooting.

On Saturday at 8:30 p.m., police officers responded to the shooting at the 600 block of Eastview Circle. When officers arrived, they found multiple victims.

An arrest has been made after two people were killed in a Saturday evening shooting at Eastview Apartments in Americus. According to the GBI, 19-year-old Jotavis Roshon Leverette was taken to Phoebe Sumter on Saturday and was in critical condition.
