Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., has appealed an order from a federal judge to close the mass detention facility colloquially known as "Alligator Alcatraz" within 60 days.

The lawsuit claimed that such a facility was a threat to species like the Florida panther and some tribal practices that depend on hunting and gathering.
