The Knicks came from 20 points down to force overtime and beat the Celtics, who had a terrible night from 3-point land, in Game 1 of their series.

Nobody gave the Knicks a shot in this Eastern Conference semifinal series. Certainly, nobody thought they would steal Game 1 when they trailed by 20 points in the third quarter.

Jalen Brunson and OG Anunoby each scored 29 points before Mikal Bridges stole the ball from Jaylen Brown with a second left in overtime, and the Knicks stunned Boston ... away from Brown to preserve the win. The Celtics finished 15 for 60 on 3-pointers.

Mikal Bridges came up with a steal against Jayson Tatum on the final possession of the game to give the Knicks a one-point victory in Game 2 of their second-round series against the Celtics on Wednesday. New York has a 2-0 lead in the series.

The Celtics’ overtime loss to the Knicks was the kind of harsh lesson in basketball hubris that these guys should be beyond having to learn.

The Knicks just stole Game 1 from underneath their feet. And now, what was supposed to be a dead series is very much alive.
