We took the trail counter clockwise. There are many places along the way to sit and enjoy the views. It really is an amazing site to see. Definitely go and enjoy the trail.Full review by chemie71

Definitely do it early morning or early evening. Best picture time of day. It is less hot then too, but in Fall when weather cools, or winter it may be different. It's open 24hrs. a day.

I am guessing the trail is open whenever Devils Tower National Monument is open which is 24 hours each day according the the NPS website. There is not a gate blocking the trail. If bad weather is predicted for the day you will be visiting it may be wise to call the monument to verify (307) 467-5283 x635
